The Black Stars will take on Madagascar in the five round of the Group E qualifiers for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Ghana will head into the game in Antananarivo knowing that a win will secure them a place at the 2023 AFCON to be played in Cote D’Ivoire in January and February next year.

Head Coach Chris Hughton will be without the services of some few regular faces due to injury, the likes of Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, Inaki Williams and so on are not available.

Inspite of the situation, Chris Hughton has a good squad of players to selected from.

For his starting eleven, Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi is expected to be handed a starting role in goal.

Alidu Seidu is expected to start a right back, while Patrick Kpozo starts at left-back, earning his maiden start. Joseph Aidoo and Daniel Amartey are expected to be paired in defense.

In midfield, Salis Abdul Samed and Thomas Partey are expected to sit in front of the defense, while Mohammed Kudus plays slightly ahead of the two.

Skipper Andre Ayew is expected to earn his debut start under Chris Hughton, starting upfront with Jordan Ayew and Joseph Paintsil.
