2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Ati-Zigi starts in goal, Amartey and Djiku in defense, Thomas Partey captains the team: Ghana’s lineup vs Angola

Chris Hughton has named Ghana’s lineup for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Hughton who’s managing the team in his first game as Head Coach named Lawrence Ati-Zigi in post, starting ahead of Jojo Wollacott and Abdul Manaf Nurudeen.

The back four is occupied by Dennis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku.

Edmund Addo and Thomas Partey sit in front of the defense, while Mohammed Kudus plays slightly ahead of the two in midfield.

In attack, Jordan, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Inaki Williams were handed starting roles.

Ghana are hoping to win their second game of the qualifiers after beating Madagascar 3-0 and drawing 1-1 against Central African Republic in the first two games.

The Black Stars sit top of the Group E table with 4 points from the two games, same as Angola and Central African Republic who have played a game more.
