A late goal from Antoine Semenyo earned Ghana a 1-0 win against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The first half of the game produced no goals and not much entertainment. Ghana saw more of the ball and came close twice through Mohammed Kudus.
The Black Stars as well had a legitimate penalty shout turned down after Jordan Ayew was fouled in the box.
In the second half, Ghana continued to dominate the game but goalkeeper Neblu was alert to deal with everything thrown at him.
Buoyed by the home support, Ghana continued to push for the winner and finally broke the deadlock in the final minute of 6 minutes of time added on, Antoine Semenyo hammered the ball into the net after a melee in the box.
The 1-0 win sees Ghana increase their points tally at the top of Group E to 7 points, 3 more points than second placed Angola.
Ghana will return to action on Monday, March 27 against Angola in Luanda. A win in the game will cement Ghana’s place at the 2023 AFCON to be played in Ivory Coast.
