The Club Licensing Department of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has today released its decisions on match venues of Premier League clubs for the upcoming season.
These decisions were taken after a second inspection by the Club Licensing Department on 31 August 2023.
The Accra Sports Stadium which was submitted by Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Accra Lions has been approved. Home ground of Asante Kotoko, the Baba Yara Stadium was also approved.
Holders of the betPawa Premier league title, Medeama will momentarily use the Akoon Park in Tarkwa due to maintenance of their proposed home ground, the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.
Karela United and returnees Heart of Lions will respectively use the Ndoum Sports Complex and the WAFA Park in Sogakope momentarily, while construction works continue on their proposed home grounds, the Koforidua Sports Stadium and the Kpando Sports Stadium.
The El-Wak Stadium was also approved for league games but will not host games that will be televised.
All other proposed grounds including the Berekum Golden City Park which came under stern criticism last season has been approved.
The Club Licensing Department shall continue to conduct spot check and monitoring of the state of the facilities during the course of the season.
