Dreams FC will host Sierra Leone fold FC Kallon in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the 2023/24 CAF Confederations Cup.

The Still Believe secured a place in this round after beating Guinean fold Milo de Kankan 3-2 on aggregate, coming from a goal down to win the second leg 2-1.

Dreams head into today’s game needing a positive result ahead of the second leg scheduled for Free Town – Sierra Leone a week later and Assistant Coach, Winfred Dormon he confident his side are prepared for the occasion.

“Preparations have gone well, we have been very positive, yes we had some minor hitches earlier on with some players, but the medical team has worked so hard,” he at the post match press conference on Friday. .

“We had our last training sessions today, Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium and the team is looking very ready and we are very positive.

“Is a very big call for this club, a very important match so far as the history of this club is concerned, and so far as Ghana football and club football is concerned.

“Our big objective is to make sure we make the money zone.

“We were happy to breeze past Milo FC in the preliminary round.

“Now, we are looking forward to this team [FC Kallon], it is a young team just like Dreams FC, and the information we have gathered is that they are a very possessive team as well,” he added.

FC Kallon on the other hand secured a place in the round without kicking the ball. The Sierra Leone fold secured the place following the withdrawal of AS Dounes of Niger due to political instability in their country.

Team News

Dreams will head into the game with some slight injury concerns, as said by Wilfred Dormon at Thursday’s press conference.

“I have to keep it to my self , this is an in house situation and don’t forget this is a press conference and of course anything I say here can have a damaging effect or a positive effect, so we will like to shield it,” Dormon said when asked about injury concerns.

Fabricio Duarte from Cape Verde will take charge of the game. He will be assisted by Jorge Correia Semedo Helio (Assistant I), Djery Gomes Lopez (Assistant II) and Delgado Dos Santos Rocha (Fourth referee).

Sekou Wieh Konneh from Liberia will work as the Match Commissioner.

Kickoff time

The game will kickoff at 4:00 pm and will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Prediction

Dreams FC will head into the game taking motivation from their performance in the previous round against Milo de Kankan. With the the home advantage, Dreams are expected to pick up a win.
