Dreams FC defeated Sierra Leone fold Kallon FC 2-1 in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The home side had a fast start to the game and went ahead in the 12th minute, Godfred Atuahene hammered in a volley from the edge of the box.
Dreams FC after going ahead created numerous chances to double their lead but failed to take them. Sylvester Simba and Godfred Aholou had the best chances of the half.
In the final minutes of the first half, Kallon FC stunned the Accra Sports Stadium when they pulled parity against the run of play, 1-1.
Dreams FC returned from the break with added impetus and had the chance to regain the lead in the 55th minute from a spot-kick. John Antwi stepped up and calmly converted the penalty.
In the remaining minutes of the game, Dreams pinned Kallon FC in their half and created a plethora of chances but were let down by a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping as the game ended 2-1.
The 2-1 win gives Dreams FC a slight advantage heading into the second leg to be played in Free Town a week later.
