Medeama defeated Guinean giants, Horoya 3-1 in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Champions League at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The hosts after a scoreless first 45 minutes opened the scoring in the 48th minute, Nana Kofi Babil scored with a spectacular strike from inside the box.
Medeama doubled their lead in the 65th minute, center-back Nurudeen Abdulai leapt high to head in a corner kick.
Four minutes later, the lead was extended even further by Kofi Asmah. The defender fired in a ferocious effort to make it 3-0.
In the 89th minute, Horoya pulled a goal back to give themselves hope of a fight back but Medeama held on to win 3-1 and take an advantage into the second leg scheduled for next weekend in Conakry.
