2023/24 CAF Champions League: Medeama see off Horoya to take advantage into the return leg

betPawa Premier League holders Medeama defeated Guinean giants, Horoya 3-1 in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Champions League at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The first 45 minutes of the game produced no goals, Medeama saw more of the ball but failed to ask questions of the Horoya defense.

Medeama commenced the second half with added impetus and went ahead in the 48th minute, Nana Kofi Babil opened the scoring with a spectacular strike from inside the box.

The Mauves and Yellow continued their fine start to the half and doubled their lead in the 65th minute, center-back Nurudeen Abdulai leapt high to head in a corner kick.

Four minutes later, the lead was extended even further by Kofi Asmah. The defender fired in a ferocious effort to make it 3-0.

In the 89th minute, Horoya pulled a goal to give themselves hope of a fight back but Medeama held on to win 3-1 and take an advantage into the second leg scheduled for two weeks time in Conakry.
