Head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has responded to critics of over his tactics and changes in Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal in the opening Group H game of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Otto Addo was sternly criticized by a plethora of Ghanaian football followers after Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal on Thursday at the Stadium 974.
According to the critics, Otto Addo played a part in Ghana’s defeat for subbing off Andre Ayew and Mohammed Kudus just minutes after Ghana had drew parity, a decision which proved costly as Ghana lost 3-2.
“When you do something and it works, you are a genius. I know that when we lose, I’ll be dead and this is always the same with the media,” Otto Addo said ahead of Monday’s game against South Korea.
“With all due respect but some never played football, and some didn’t do the job. In the job as a coach, you have to be really into it to know and understand a lot of things,” he added.
The 3-2 defeat leaves Ghana at the bottom of Group H after Uruguay and South Korea played out a goalless draw earlier on Thursday.
The Black Stars will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways on Monday, November 28 when Ghana face South Korea at the Education City stadium at 13:00 GMT.
