Posted by Premier League new boys Samartex 1996 defeated Tema Youth 4-0 at the Blue Skies Park in Dobro to progress to the semifinal of the 2022 Division One League Super Cup.
Samartex demonstrated their superiority as they took control of the entire game and pummeled their opponents, scoring two goals in either half.
Raymond Kwofie started the demolition by giving his side the lead in the opening minutes, before former Hearts of Oak right-back Larry Sumaila converted a penalty to make it 2-0 at the interval.
In the second half, Samartex scored two more goals through Ibrahim Giyasu and another goal from Raymond Kwofie.
In the other final Group B game, Young Apostles and Tamale City played a scoreless draw at the Kyebi Astro Turf.
The results from two games ensured that Tamale City and Samartex advance to the semifinal of the competition as first and second placed sides in the Group respectively.
In Group A, Liberty Professionals FC and Nsoatreman FC also advance to the semifinal as first and second placed sides respectively
The semifinal of the competition will see Liberty Professionals face Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC face Tamale City. Both games are scheduled for Wednesday, August 24 and will be played at the Kyebi Astro Turf.
