Madagascar progressed to the Quarterfinals of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) after beating Sudan 3-0 in their final Group C game on Monday.
The debutants opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Tsiry Randriatsiferana. In the 30th minute, Solomampionona Razafindranaivo made it 2-0 with a fine effort from the edge of the box, before Lalaina Rafanomezantso wrapped up the win three minutes later.
The result means that Madagascar finish top of Group C with 9 points and will now face Mozambique in a COSAFA derby on Saturday, January 28.
For Ghana, they finish in second place in the Group with 6 points and will know their opponents for the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, January 24.
The Black Galaxies will face the winners of Group E which could be between Cameroon and Niger who face off in the final group game tomorrow at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium.
The winner of the game will face Ghana in the quarterfinals on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
