The Black Galaxies will kick off their 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) campaign against Madagascar at the Constantine-Stade Chahid Hamlaoui on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Head Coach of the team, Annor Walker heads into the competition with a squad a star-studded squad. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, David Abagna, Dennis Korsah and Gladson Awako who all have at least made an appearance with the senior national team, the Black Stars are in the squad.
Budding goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad who was part of the team that represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup is also in the squad.
Annor Walker and his team are charged up to win the competition for the first time in the country’s history, a test they’ll begin against Madagascar on Sunday.

Ibrahim Danlad who was first choice goalkeeper in the qualifiers for the campaign is expected to start in goal, ahead of William Essu and Stephen Kwaku.
Augustine Randolf and Denis Korsah are expected to occupy the right back and left back positions respectively, while Solomon Adomako and Konadu Yiadom are expected to occupy the center-back positions.
Razak Kasim and David Abagna are expected to start in midfield. Skipper Gladson Awako who returned to training few days ago after recuperating from an injury he suffered in a friendly last weekend against Algeria is expected to also play in midfield.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Abdul Razak Yussif and Jonah Attuquaye are expected to lead the attack.
