The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced its best performing players for the Group stages of the 2022 TotalEnergies Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Algeria.
The team is dominated by host nation Algeria with three players, while Ghana who are amongst eight teams who will play in the Quarterfinals had no player selected.
Algeria’s Goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz who has kept 3 clean sheets in 3 appearances was selected in goal.
The back four is occupied by Angola’s Eddie Afonso, Mali’s Cheikh Sidibe, Chouaib Kedad of Algeria and Ismael Souley of Niger.
Mali’s Lamine Camara, Algeria’s Houssem Mrezigue and Solomampionona Razafindranaivo of Madagascar were picked in midfield.
The attack is led by Angola’s Gilberto, Sankara Karamoko of Cote D’Ivoire and Jonathan Ikangalombo of DR Congo.
Head Coach of Madagascar Romuald Rakotondrabe was selected as the best coach of the round.
