2022 CHAN: Black Galaxies skipper Gladson Awako returns to full training, Abdul Razak still out

Ghana Black Galaxies have been handed a major boost in their pursuit for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) following the return of skipper Gladson Awako to training.

Gladson Awako suffered an injury in Ghana’s 2-1 defeat to Madagascar in the opening game of the biennial competition, subsequently missing the 3-1 win against Sudan last Thursday.

The skipper of the team returned to training with the squad on Monday as they prepare for the quarterfinals stage of the competition this weekend.

Forward Razak Yusif who also suffered an injury in the opening group game is also set to make a return to training in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Black Galaxies have finished second in Group C with 6 points and will face the winners of Group E which could be between Cameroon and Niger who face off in the final group game later today at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Omran.

The winner of the game will face Ghana in the quarterfinals on Saturday, January 28 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
