King Faisal and Skyy FC recorded wins against Aduana FC and Ebusua Dwarfs respectively to secure a place in the semifinal of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup.
In the game between King Faisal and Aduana FC at the Kwame Kyei Complex in Abrankese, Aduana FC opened the scoring in the 41st minute through Stephen Badu.
Just two minutes into the second half, King Faisal was awarded a penalty after Godfred Asiamah was brought down in the box. Abdul Latif stepped up and converted the kick.
In the 76th minute, Frank Owusu scored to make it 2-1 for Aduana FC. However, the lead didn’t last long, Benjamin Bature scored 4 minutes later to level the score, 2-2.
The remaining minutes of the game saw no goals and extra-time was needed to separate the two sides. Both teams pushed for the winner in extra-time but no avail.
The game after extra-time ended 2-2 and went to penalties. King Faisal won the shootouts 3-1. Bright Enchil, Anokye Badu and Isaac Mintah all missed their kicks for Aduana.
At the St. Martins Park in Daboase, Skyy FC defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 to secure a historic semifinal place. Eric Antwi Konadu scored the only goal of the game in the 2nd minute.

In other results, Nsoatreman defeated Real Tamale United (RTU) 1-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium to progress to the semifinal.

A solo Ebenezer Adade goal in extra-time earned Dreams FC a 1-0 win against Legon Cities at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The semifinal will see Dreams FC play Skyy and King Faisal face-off with Nsoatrenan. The games will be played at a neutral ground on the 13th and 14th of May.
