Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a 1-0 win against Nsoatreman at the Nana Kronmansah Park on the resumption of the betPawa Premier League after a month break due to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Hearts of Oak headed into the game without numerous players. Gladson Awako, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Dennis Korsah, Konadu Yiadom and Seidu Suraj were absent due to their involvement with the Black Galaxies.
The first half of the game ended scoreless, Hearts of Oak were the better side in the half and came close to scoring through Ibrahim Salifu and Kwadwo Obeng Jnr.
Nsoatreman as well came close to scoring at the other end of the field, Richmond Ayi made a good save to keep his team in the game and Robert Addo Sowah was needed to make a last ditch tackle to deny Nurudeen Abdulai.
Just eight minutes into the second half, Hearts of Oak broke the deadlock, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr took an advantage of an howler by the goalkeeper to plant the ball into an empty net.
The remaining minutes of the game saw no goals, but it wasn’t short of chances.
At Sogakope WAFA Park, a 35th minute Raymond Okoe Grippman’s own goal earned Aduana FC a 1-0 win against Great Olympics.
