2022/23 GPL: Michel Otuo’s brace pushes Legon Cities out of the drop zone, King Faisal left to rue missed chances in stalemate against GoldStars: Gameweek 22 wrap-up

Legon Cities defeated league leaders Aduana FC 2-0 at the El-Wak Stadium to end a run of 5 games without a league win. Experienced midfielder Michel Otou scored both goals, scoring in the 8th and 80th minute of the game.

In Abrankese, King Faisal were left to rue missed chances as they were held to a scoreless draw by Bibiani GoldStars. The two teams finished the game with 10 men, Ibrahim Suraj was sent off for King Faisal and Farouk Adams was sent off for GoldStars.

A late goal from center-back Caleb Amankwah earned Accra Hearts of Oak a 1-0 win against Kotoku Royals at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Phobians finished the game with 10 men, Caleb Amankwah who was already on a yellow card was shown a second yellow after taking his shirt off to celebrate his goal.

Bechem United recorded a 3-1 victory against Karela United at the Nana Gyeabor Park. Hafiz Konkoni, Isaiah Nyarko and Abdul Karim scored for Bechem United in the first half, before Attah Kumi pulled a goal back for Karela in the second half.

At the Akoon Park in Tarkwa, goals in either half from Joshua Agyemang and Jonathan Sowah earned Medeama a 2-0 win against Great Olympics.

Nsoatreman defeated Accra Lions 3-0 to end their 3-game winning streak. Nana Kwame Junior, Mark Agyekum and Ushau Abu grabbed the goals for Nsoatreman.

In Tamale, Real Tamale United (RTU) picked up their 4th consecutive draw after they were held to a scoreless draw by a resilient Berekum Chelsea team.

Holders Asante Kotoko recorded an impressive 2-1 win against Samartex at the Nsenkire Sports Arena in Samreboi. Enoch Morrison and Rocky Dwamena scored for Asante Kotoko in the first half, before Ebenzer Acquah pulled a goal back for Samartex in the final minute of the game.

At the Tamale Stadium, Tamale City defeated Dreams FC 3-1 to move out of the relegation zone momentarily. Tamale City grabbed their goals through a brace from Sampson Eduku and a goal from Nafiu Sulemana. Ali Huzaif scored the face saving goal for Dreams.
