Giants Accra Hearts of Oak scored late to draw 1-1 against Bibiani GoldStars in the 2022/23 betPawa Gameweek 21 clash at the Dun’s Park.
The Phobians headed into the game buoyed after beating rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0, but it was GoldStars who had a fast start to game and broke the deadlock in the 5th minute. A crossing from Evans Owusu took a slight deflection off Amankwah Baafi and went pass a helpless Eric Ofori Antwi.
Hearts of Oak after going down stepped their game up but were denied the equalizer through a combination of good defending and poor finishing, especially from Albert Eonde.
In the 73rd minute, Referee Selorm Yao Bless was in the mix after he awarded Hearts of Oak a penalty for hand ball and later rescinded his decision.
The Phobians continued to dominate the game and were rewarded with a deserving equalizer in the final minute of 9 minutes of time added on. Isaac Mensah leapt high and headed in a sweet delivery from a free-kick taken by Ibrahim Salifu.
The draw leaves Hearts of Oak in 4th place with 32 points from 21, while GoldStars sit in 6th place with 21 points.
