2022/23 GPL: Hearts of Oak inflict double pain on Asante Kotoko; Nsoatreman and Accra Lions leave it late: Gameweek 20 Results and Standings

Gameweek 20 of the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League presented us with some exciting and enthralling games across the various match centers.

Hearts of Oak bounced back to winning ways after beating bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Center-back Konadu Yiadom scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute, heading home a free-kick from Linda Mtange.

The game between the two teams also served as the 2023 President Cup.

Two quick goals from Emmanuel Owusu and Hafiz Konkoni in the second half earned Bechem United a 2-0 win against Bibiani GoldStars at the Nana Gyeabor Park.

Legon Cities and Real Tamale United (RTU) drew 1-1 at the El-Wak Stadium. The Royals struck first in the 71st minute through Samuel Armah, before Issah Kuka made it 1-1 in the 84th minute.

At the Akoon Park in Tarkwa, Medeama defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-0. Defender Hamidu Abdul Fatawu scored the only goal of the game in the 34th minute.

In Tamale, a 95th minute Dominic Amponsah goal earned Accra Lions a 1-0 win against Tamale City.

Nsoatreman scored late to beat strugglers Kotoku Royals 2-1 at the Nana Akromansan Park. Samuel Ofori and Kwame Junior Nana scored for Nsoatreman, while Collins Kudjoe scored for Kotoku Royals.

A 33rd minute Isaac Afful strike earned Samartex a 1-0 home win against league leaders Aduana FC.

Baba Yahaya and Samuel Adom Antwi scored in either half to earn King Faisal a 2-0 win against Great Olympics at their new home ground, the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

At the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, Dreams FC and Karela United played out an entertaining scoreless draw. Both goalkeepers needed to put up a commanding performance to earn their respective teams the point.
