2022/23 GPL: GFA announce winners of the Player, Coach and the Goalkeeper of the Month award for May/June

Top scorer of the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League Abednego Tetteh has been named NASCO player of the month for May/June.

Abednego Tetteh beat off competition from Samuel Ofori of Nsoatreman FC, Jonathan Sowah of Medeama SC and Ali Huzaif of Dreams FC.

The Bibiani Gold Stars forward in the month under review scored 7 goals and won 2 NASCO player of the match awards in 5 games.

Medeama SC head Coach Augustine Evans Adotey also scooped the NASCO coach of the month for May/June after guiding his side to their first Premier League title.

He was nominated alongside Bismark Kobi Mensah of Accra Great Olympics and Abdul Karim Zito of Dreams FC.

Coach Adotey led his team in 5 games, winning 4 drawing 1, scoring 12 goals and conceding just 3 goals. He in the process led Medeama to win the betPawa Premier League, the first time in team’s history.

Dreams FC shot-stopper Solomon Agbasi has emerged as goalkeeper of the month, seeing off competition from Felix Kyei of Medeama SC, Benjamin Asare of Great Olympics and Abdul Ganiu Mohammed of Karela United.

Agbasi played five games in May/June, kept 4 clean sheets and conceded 1 goal, leading his side to a 6th place finish in the betPawa Premier League, their highest finish in the topflight league since securing promotion in 2017.

For winning the NASCO Player and Coach of the month award, Abednego Tetteh and Coach Augustine Evans Adotey will receive a 43-inch NASCO Television set from Electroland Ghana Limited, while Solomon Agbasi will receive a goalkeepers glove and a jersey from the National Goalkeepers Union.
