2022/23 GPL: Dreams plunder point from misfiring Hearts of Oak, King Faisal shock Lions in Accra: Gameweek 25 Results

Accra Hearts of Oak were left to rue missed chances as they were held to a scoreless draw by Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The first half of the game was cagily contested, Hearts of Oak saw more of the ball but didn’t create any clear cut chance.

Dreams started the second half the much better side and came close to scoring in the 70th minute, a shot from Sylvester Simba was kept out by goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi but no one was alert to pounce on the rebound.

Heading into the final minutes of the game, Hearts of Oak started to control the game and should have scored in the 87th minute. Linda Mtange pounced on an error by the Dreams defense but failed to keep his final effort on target.

A minute later, the Phobians came close once again. This time Solomon Agbasi pulled off a world class save to prevent a bicycle kick from Linda Mtange from hitting the net.

In additional time, Hearts of Oak were presented with another chance. Kwadwo Obeng Jnr after being set up by Linda Mtange dummied two players and struck his effort on goal but his shot was cleared off the line as the game ended scoreless.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, King Faisal stunned Accra Lions, beating them 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Benjamin Bature in the 9th minute.
