2022/23 GPL: Berekum Chelsea rip Asante Kotoko apart

Berekum Chelsea defeated holders Asante Kotoko 3-0 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

The first 45 minutes of game produced no goals, Chelsea were the better team in the half but it was Asante Kotoko who had the best chance of the half. Georges Mfegue in the 12th minute from close range connected to a cross from Isaac Oppong but failed to keep his effort down.

Berekum Chelsea started the second half just like they played in the first and went ahead in the 49th minute, Kalo Outtara leapt high to head in a crossing from Collins Armeyaw.

The home side continued to control the game and extended their lead in the 63rd minute, Kalo Outtara once again headed home a precise crossing from Collins Armeyaw.

In the 83rd minute, substitute Ansu Kofi Patrick scored to make it 3-0 and wrap up the win for Chelsea. He reacted the quickest to a rebound after Ibrabim Danlad failed to grab an effort from Yaw Dankwa.

The 3-0 win sees Chelsea remain in 8th place with 37 points from 26 games. For Asante Kotoko, they remain in 4th place with 39 points, 5 points behind leaders Aduana.
