2022/23 GPL: Asante Kotoko to miss ten (10) first team players for Great Olympics clash

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be without ten (10) of their first team players for their gameweek 11 clash against Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors will head into the game hoping to bounce back to winning after drawing 0-0 in their previous game against Aduana in Dormaa. However, they’ll have to do so without the services of 10 of their first team players.

Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, Defender Sheriff Mohammed, and Augustine Agyapong are out due to national assignment. The trio are currently with the local national team, the Black Galaxies for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) to take place in Algeria from next week.

Dickson Afoakwa, Isaac Oppong, Georges Mfegue, Stephen Amankona and John Tedeku are all ruled out due to injuries, Justice Blay and Nicholas Mensah are both ruled out through suspension.

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors are likely to have midfielder Sherif Mohammed and forward Clinton Opoku in the matchday squad for the first time this season.

The game against the Dade Boys is scheduled for Sunday, January 8, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko sit in second place on the league table with 18 points from 10 games, 2 points behind leaders Aduana FC.
