2022/23 GARFA Division Two Middle League: Still Believe get off to a flying start; Accra Athletic put Auroras to the sword: Match-day one results

The 2022/23 Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Division Two Middle League got underway on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The first game saw Dreams FC’s feeder side, Still Believe beat Danbort 3-1. Still Believe after early domination opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, Shaibu Abdullah dazzled his way into the box before hammering the ball into the roof of the net.

The Still Believe lads doubled their lead in the 66th minute, a free-kick from Abdul Aziz Musibau took a wicked deflection and went pass the goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Aziz Musibau scored once again to grab his brace and his team’s third.

Later in the game, Danbort pulled a goal back to give themselves hopes of a comeback but Still Believe held on to win 3-1.

In the second game, Accra Athletic got off to a flying start with a 3-1 win against Auroras.

Accra Athletic went ahead after just 2 minutes into the game, David Fiti leapt high to head the ball in from a cornerkick. Ten minutes later, Mustapha Bossah made it 2-0, heading the ball home from close range.

In the 80th minute, Accra Athletic extended their lead to 3-0, William Danquah showed composure to finish off a precise pass from Francis Havor.

Auroras were awarded a spot-kick in the 86th minute, Micheal Adjetey stepped up and took the kick but saw his effort saved. Few minutes later, Hamza Issah scored to reduce the deficit, 3-1.
