2022/23 DOL: Heart of Lions, Skyy, Nations suffer defeats; Dwarfs, Sharks, Kenpong pick wins to increase survival chances: Gameweek 29 Results

The penultimate round of the 2022/23 Access Division One League presented us with some shocking and interesting results.

The regular season of Zone One was completed last weekend. Eleven Wonders will face Bofoakwa Tano in a playoff to determine which team qualifies to the Premier League. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In Zone Two, Hamidu Salifu and Anthony Owusu scored for Soccer Intellectuals in a 2-0 win against Nations FC. Elmina Sharks defeated New Edubiase 3-1 to keep their survival hopes alive. Ebusua Dwarfs won 3-0 away against Swedru All Blacks. Emmanuel Agyei’s solitary goal earned Basake Holy Stars a 1-0 win against Asekem.

At the Gomoa Fetteh Park, WAFA won 3-1 against Sefwi All Stars. Asokwa Deportivo defeated Skyy FC in 6-goal thriller, 4-2. Kenpong Academy won 2-0 against Pacific Heroes to increase their chances of avoiding the drop and Nzema Kotoko won 1-0 against Future Stars.

In Zone Three, two goals in the first half from Emmanuel Essel and Samuel Yorke Painstil earned Vision FC a 2-0 home win against leaders Heart of Lions. At the Akyem Tafo Rovers Park, Susubiribi defeated Volta Rangers 3-0. Liberty Professionals were held at home by Attram De Visser, 1-1. Koforidua Semper Fi won 1-0 at home against Akosombo Krystal Palace.

A 85th minute Ibrahim Yusif goal earned Tema Youth a 2-2 draw against A5 Rences. Golden Kicks came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 away against Mighty Jets. Akatsi All Stars and Na God played out a 2-2 draw. On Monday, Nania FC will host Uncle T United at the Tema Sports Stadium.
