The Division One Zone Two League table has taken a different shape after Nations FC were declared winners of their protest against Skyy FC.
Nations FC after the Gameweek 18 clash at the St. Martins Anglican School Park in Daboase which ended 3-0 in favor of Skyy FC protested against Skyy for fielding an unqualified player in the person of Victor Mends.
Nations in their petition stated that the said player was first registered by Rail Stars Football Club (FC) as Victor Mends with his Date of Birth as 07/07/2001 and subsequently transferred to Skyy during the 2022/2023 main registration window.
The Abrankese-based side also claimed that Skyy failed to use the original registration details of the player in the FIFA Connect system after Rail Stars FC accepted their request in the FIFA connect system and released him, contesting that Skyy altered the registration details of the player after they negotiated a transfer with Rail Stars FC.
Nations insisted that Skyy altered the player’s name and Date of Birth to EGHAN VICTOR JNR with his new Date of Birth as 07/09/2004 and played him in the Gameweek 18 clash, a contravention of Article 33 of the GFA Division One League Regulations.
The Disciplinary Committee after its findings and listening to the defense statement of Skyy ruled in favor of Nations FC.
As a result, Nations were awarded three points and three goals and Skyy FC were deducted 3 points from their already accumulated points. In addition, Skyy were fined Two Thousand and Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢2,500.00).
