The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) has announced the winners of the January and maiden edition of the Division Two (2) League monthly football awards.
The award scheme is introduced to enhance the beauty of the game by recognizing and awarding the Best Player, Best Coach and Best Referee of every month.
For the January edition, Emmanuel Osei of Accraen Verum Ipsum was named player of the month. He beat off competition from Nathaniel Nunoo of Ghana Immigration FC, Jeremiah Allotey of Remar Ghana Soccer Academy, Bismark Addai of Accra Golden Boys and Still Believe’s Abdul Aziz Misbau.
Emmanuel Osei in the month under review featured in four games. He scored five goals and won three man of the match awards.
Tony Lokko of Accra Athletic was named manager of the month, beating off competition from Panthers FC’s Emmanuel Selase Pentem, Nana Kwaku Agyemang of Progen FC, Joyce Aku Menns of Desidero, Emmanuel Kweku Addo of Faith Soccer Academy, FC Raisa’s Awudu Issaka and George Otchie of Charity Stars FC.
Lokko in the month under review led Accra Athletic who are table toppers in Zone One in four games, winning all of those games. His team in the process scored 7 goals and conceded just 2.
Class I referee Lieutenant Cornelius Nettey also beat off competition from Adejetey Bless Confidence and Festus Dormefa Bewu to win the Referee of the month award.

Emmanuel Osei, Tony Lokko and Lieutenant Cornelius Nettey will be awarded at short event to be held at the media center of the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, February 23.
