2022/23 CAF CL: Asante Kotoko vs Kadiogo – Team News, Probable Lineups and Predictions

Posted by

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will take on Burkina Faso Champions Racing Club (RC) Kadiogo in the second leg of the Preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors will come into this game with a slight advantage having won the first leg 1-0 away, courtesy a late Isaac Oppong goal.

The game between the two sides earlier this week at the Stade de l’Amitié Général Mathieu Kérékou in Benin was the first and only meeting between the two sides in history.

Team news

Asante Kotoko will head into the game without any improvement in terms of player availability. Talisman Frank Etouga is still unavailable for the game. The Cameroonian forward is currently in Egypt to seal a move to Egyptian topflight side Al Masry.

The Porcupine Warriors will maintain the squad from the first meeting between the two sides, meaning the likes of Stephen Amankona, Augustine Agyapong, Patrick Asmah and new signees Rocky Dwamena and Eric Zeze are still out.

With some few players out, Head Coach Seydou Zerbo will hope the fans can make a difference by coming to the stadium in numbers.

“It’s a big game and the difference will be the supporters. Everywhere you go in Europe you will see the supporters being the number twelve man so if they really have the team at heart, then they should be here on Sunday,” said Zerbo in the pre-match conference.

Predicted lineup

Kickoff time

The game will kickoff at 3:00 pm and will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Prediction

Kumasi Asante Kotoko demonstrated their superiority in the first encounter in Benin by dominating the game and created the best chances, however, they failed to take those chances except for one. The Porcupine Warriors are expected to replicate similar performance but this time with an improved result.
