Another weekend of the betPawa Premier League presented us with exciting games. Eight games took place across the various match centers. The game between Asante Kotoko and Bechem United was postponed due to former’s participation in the CAF Champions League.

In the games that went on, Hearts of Oak scored late to earn a point against Great Olympics. Dreams recorded a 1-0 win against bitterest rivals Kotoku Royals. Medeama came from 2-1 down to beat Real Tamale United 3-2 and so on.

We take a look at MahamaShaibu.com’s best players in each position in the 8 games played in gameweek 2:

Goalkeeper: Sylvester Sackey – Legon Cities

Sylvester Sackey was at his best to ensure that Legon Cities picked up a 1-0 win against Tamale City in Tamale. He commanded his back line perfectly and as well made some good saves.

Center-back: Kofi Asmah – Medeama

Kofi Asmah makes consecutive appearance in our team of the week. The young center-back turned up for Medeama when things got hard, scoring once again and keeping things tight at the back.

Center-back: Konadu Yiadom – Hearts of Oak

Konadu Yiadom dumped an error in the opening minutes of the game to put up a fine display. He scored in the dying minutes of the game to earn his side a point, a debut everyone would dream of.

Center-back: Emmanuel Siaw – Samartex 1996

A captain’s display from Emmanuel Siaw in the 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea. A feat which earned him the man of the match award.

Midfield: Hagan Frimpong – Accra Lions

Hagan Frimpong provided the assist for his sides’s second goal in a 2-1 win against Karela United. He was as well named man of the match.

Midfield: Kwame Adom Frimpong – Aduana FC

Kwame Adom Frimpong scored a goal and as well did the needful in midfield for Aduana in their second win of the season. He was named man of the match.

Midfield: Kwasi Donsu – Medeama

Skipper Kwasi Donsu scored twice to propel his team to a 3-2 home victory. He as well picked up the man of the match award.

Midfield: Sylvester Simba – Dreams FC

Sylvester Simba was a delight to watch throughout 90 minutes for Dreams in a 1-0 win against Kotoku Royals. He was named man of the match.

Forward: Samuel Diyuo – Nsoatreman

Samuel Diyuo was like a Thorne in the flesh of the Bibiani Gold Stars defense in a historic 1-0 win, his flawless performance earned him the man of the match award.

Forward: Gladson Awako – Hearts of Oak

Age indeed they say is just a number, Gladson Awako demonstrated that by bossing the midfield for Hearts of Oak in the derby draw. He was named of the match.

Forward: Issah Kuka – Real Tamale United (RTU)

Despite being on the losing end, Issah Kuka walked off the pitch in Tarkwa with his head high. He scored twice in a 3-2 defeat to Medeama in Tarkwa.

Player of the week: Kwasi Donsu – Medeama

A brace and a man of the match award for Kwasi Donsu against RTU makes him our player of the week.

Coach of the week: Maxwell Konadu – Legon Cities

Maxwell Konadu is our manager of the week. The experienced gaffer led the Royals to a 1-0 win in a rainy day in Tamale against Tamale City.

Team of the week: Legon Cities

Legon Cities is our team of the week. The Royals were one of two away teams to pick a win on the road in the Gameweek.
