The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has shortlisted three players for the Ghana Premier League Nasco Player of the Month award for the month of January.
The nominees are Asante Kotoko’s Franck Mbella Etouga, Yaw Annor of AshantiGold and Umar Bashiru of Karela FC.
Franck Mbella Etouga in the month under review made 5 appearances for Asante Kotoko. The Cameroonian international scored 5 goals which include a hat-trick against AshantiGold and won 2 man of the match awards.
Yaw Annor made 4 appearances for AshantiGold, scored 4 goals and won a man of the match award.
Umar Bashiru on the other hand made 5 appearances for Karela United, scored 4 times and won a man of the match award.
For the coach of the month award, November’s winner Prosper Narteh Ogum, Umar Abdul Rabi of Medeama, Kassim Mingle of Bechem United and Bismark Kobby Mensah of Karela FC will battle for the award.
The four coaches secured impressive results throughout last month.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum led Asante Kotoko in 5 matches, won 4 and drew 1. Umar Abdul Rabi led Medeama in 6 games, he won 3 of those games, drew 2 and lost 1.
Kassim Mingle Ocansey in the month saw his side Bechem United win 2 games and draw 3 from 5. Bismark Kobi-Mensah as well guided Karela United in 5 games, he picked up 3 wins and 2 draws.
The winners of the player and coach of the
month award will receive a television set from
Electroland Ghana limited. The player of month
award winner will receive a personalized trophy
