2021/22 GPL: Agyenim Boateng, Emmanuel Appau and Mfegue lead the line, Boris Mandjui in goal once again: Gameweek 14 Team of the week

Another weekend of Premier League action, one which wasn’t short of upsets and contentious decisions.

George Mfegue scored the only goal of the game to earn Asante Kotoko a 1-0 victory against Medeama, Karela United scored late to beat Hearts of Oak 3-1, Dreams FC defeated Aduana FC 3-1 and so on.

Here is MahamaShaibu.com’s Premier League team of the week:

1. Goalkeeper: Boris Mandjui – Medeama

Despite being on the losing side, Boris Mandjui made a number of good saves to make sure Medeama didn’t disgrace themselves in Kumasi. He saved a penalty and was named man of the match.

2. Center-back: Ebenezer Sekyere – Great Olympics

Solid at the back for Great Olympics in a 2-1 victory against King Faisal. He was also efficient at the other end of the field, scoring a goal.

3. Center-back: Richmond Sackey – Accra Lions

Despite the defeat, Richmond Sackey was like an unmovable rock at the back for Accra Lions and did many things right to prevent his side from losing by many goals. He was named man of the match.

4. Center-back: Kofi Agbesimah – Bechem United

Kofi Agbesimah played his heart out in defense to make sure Bechem United picked up a point in a nerve-racking game at home to WAFA. He was named man of the match.

5. Right midfield: Yussif Abdul Razak – Great Olympics

The youngster was like a Thorne in the flesh of the King Faisal defense, his outstanding performance earned him the man of the match award.

6. Central midfield: Stephen Dankwah Badu – RTU

Despite being on the losing side, it is hard to fault Stephen Dankwah Badu for putting a foot wrong in midfield for RTU in Techiman. He was named man of the match.

7. Center midfield: Mudasiru Salifu – Asante Kotoko

Mudasiru Salifu controlled the midfield perfectly for Asante Kotoko. He protected the defense and was equally effective in attack, stringing some good passes.

8. Left midfield: Emmanuel Boakye – Karela United

Gave the Hearts of Oak defense headache as Karela United defeated the Phobians 1-0. He picked up the man of the match award.

9. Forward: Emmanuel Appau – Bibiani Gold Stars

Scored a goal and picked up the man of the match award as Gold Stars came from a goal down to beat Legon Cities 2-1.

10. Forward: George Mfegue – Asante Kotoko

Scored the only goal of the game to earn Asante Kotoko a 1-0 victory against Medeama, could have scored another but his penalty was saved by the goalkeeper.

11. Forward: Agyenim Boateng – Dreams FC

Scored a brace to earn Dreams FC their first win in many weeks. He as well scooped the man of the match award.

Player of the week – Agyenim Boateng – Dreams

A brace and a man of the match award against Aduana FC makes Agyenim Boateng our player of the week.

Coach of the week: Vladislav Viric – Dreams

Led his team to beat one of the contenders for the league title, Aduana 3-1. A feat which earns him the coach of the week award.

Team of the week: Dreams FC

A 3-1 victory for Dreams FC against Aduana at home makes them our team of the week.
