2021/22 DOL: Tamale City beat Steadfast to go back on top; Vision FC, Wa Yassin and Nkoranza Warriors pick wins: Gameweek 28 Results and Standings

Tamale City defeated Steafast 3-1 at the Walewale Astroturf to go back on top of the Division One Zone One League table.

Following Nsoatreman’s 2-1 win against Mighty Royals, Tamale City at the start of the game found themselves in second place and needed nothing short of a win to go back on top.

Tamale City after just 20 minutes into the game were on course to doing so, taking the lead through Abega Ofosu. Bismark Asare made it 2-0 in the 35th minute, before ‪Iddrisu Zakaria Dimange‬ scored in the 42nd minute to make 3-0.

In the dying embers of the first half, Steadfast pulled a goal back through Abdul Rahman Fuseini l. The second half saw no goals as it ended 3-1 in favor of Tamale City.

The 3-1 result sends Tamale City back on top of the table with 62 points from 27 games, same points with 2nd placed Nsoatreman, but with the head to head advantage after drawing 1-1 in the 1st leg in the Bono region and winning 1-0 in the second leg in Tamale.

Other results in Zone One saw Wa Yassin beat Bofoakwa Tano 2-1. Nkoranza Warriors thrashed already relegated Dreams Tamale, 4-1.

In Zone Three, Vision defeated Susubiribi 3-1 to move into 6th place. Meanwhile, Kotoku Royals have gone top of Zone Three after winning a protest against Heart of Lions.
