Nsoatreman defeated Tamale City 2-1 after extra-time to secure promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
The two teams were involved in a playoff at the Accra Sports Stadium after they were tied on points and even on head-to-head at the end of the regular Division One Zone One League season.
The first half of the game was a bit cagey and saw no goals. Both teams failed to create any huge opportunity but Tamale City were slightly the better side.
Nsoatreman came out for the second an improved side and went ahead in the 57th minute, Samuel Ofori hammered the ball into the net after a melee in the box.
Tamale City stepped their game up and pulled parity in the 65th minute through a spot-kick calmly dispatched by top scorer Bismark Asare.
In the final minutes of the game, Ofosu Abega could have become the hero of the day for Tamale City after he controlled the ball beautifully in the box but unfortunately sent his shot straight into the waiting arms of goalkeeper Yaw Owusu Ansah.
The game was tied at 1-1 and extra-time was needed to separate the two sides.
In the 8th minute of extra-time, Nsoatreman regained the lead through Charles Asante, his low shot went through bodies and pass the helpless goalkeeper.
Tamale City in the remaining minutes of the game pushed bodies forward for the equalizer but to no avail as Nsoatreman held on to win 2-1 and secure promotion to the Premier League.
