It was on Sunday, March 15, 2020, when the Ghana Football Association (GFA) dug a trench in the hearts of Ghanaian football lovers.
The country’s football governing under the directive of the president of the country, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo announced that all football activities have been suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
But after a long hiatus, the country’s top flight league returns and it this time promises to be enthralling.
Preparations towards the season saw football clubs snap up players, with the biggest signings of the window being Asamoah Gyan joining Legon Cities, making a return to the top flight league after 17 years of being away.
Brazilian international Fabio Gama signed for Asante Kotoko, Nuru Sulley and Patrick Razak rejoined Hearts of Oak and many more.
The league also lost some good players, Victorien Adebayor departed Inter Allies to join Danish fold Koge, Medeama lost Prince Opoku Agyemang to Cape Town City, Hearts of Oak lost Kofi Kordzi to Qatari side Muaither SC, Nana Kofi Banbil left Medeama to join Austrian side Altach and some few others.
