The Division One League Super Cup continued today at the Madina Astro Turf, with the second round of games in Group B taking place.
The first game of the day saw Berekum Arsenal stun Premier League new boys Accra Lions by beating them 3-1.
Ebenezer Aboagye opened the scoring for Berekum Arsenal in the 40th minute after a decent string of passes.
Just minutes into the second half, Accra Lions pulled parity through substitute Shawkan Mohammed. Berekum Arsenal restored their lead in the 62nd minute through Richard Mahama from close range.
Arsenal were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute, goalkeeper Emmanuel Adu was sent off for a rough tackle on Rauf Salifu.
Despite being a man down, Arsenal put the game to bed in the 84th minute through Ebenezer Aboagye after latching on a precise through ball.
In the second game, Real Tamale United (RTU) and Samartex 1996 played out an entertaining 1-1 draw.
RTU raced into a 14th minute lead through Stephen Dankwah Badu. Samatex leveled the scored in the 26th minute through a well taken free kick by Emmanuel Adu Siaw.
The remaining minutes of the game saw no goals as both teams walked away with a point.
The competition will continue tomorrow, with the final games of Group A coming on. The first game will see Bibiani Gold Stars play Bofoakwa Tano at the McDan La Town Park and Tema Youth will face off with Skyy in Madina.
